Mrs. Ellen Murphy, 73, a resident of Butte the past 45 years, died yesterday at a local hospital after a brief illness. She made her home at the Fox hotel.
Mrs. Murphy was born in Ireland. She was an active member of the Ladies' Catholic Benefit association in Sacred Heart parish.
Two sons survive, James Murphy of Los Angeles and Dan Murphy of Butte; also a daughter, Miss Theresa Murphy of Seattle. The body is at Duggan's Merrill mortuary.
