Brackets mark uncertain or illegible passages.] Butte's big Auditorium was comfortably filled yesterday afternoon with sons and daughters of Erin, who came to pay homage to the patron saint of Ireland. The annual affair was held under the auspices of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Enthusiasm was manifested by those present. The day was the greatest in the history of Butte Irish. James J. Murphy, president of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, presided. His introductory remarks were timely and pleasant. He introduced the Mahanky as the orator of the day upon the subject "St. Patrick." ## Tribute to A. O. H. "And let me say to you, brothers of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, your organization has played such an important part in defending and upholding our national Christian heritage that you may well be styled Bulwark of the Church." Gathered here pray earnest the story attached most of America. The reception is the speaker and had broken into a vigorous cheering when the speaker referred to the life of the speaker and had broken each one. "I sees the film will never come, when Irishmen will substitute the cry 'God Save the King' for the helping 'God Serve Ireland,'" he said. The program was opened to selections from the brass band of the Irish Volunteers, John Sullivan, leader. After being conducted Anclent Order of Hibernians and Willis Dolling followed with an excellent selection on piano and violin.
