Bishop Carroll Here. *The Butte Miner, Friday, February 24, 1922, p. 5.* The observance of St. Patrick's day will have an added feature in connection with the celebration this year. It will be silver jubilee of St. Lawrence church, and the Hibernians, Ladies' Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus and other Catholic organizations will assist the parishioners of Father F. X. Baten's parish, in fittingly celebrating the day. Bishop John P. Carroll of Helena will celebrate pontifical high mass at St. Lawrence church at 10:30 o'clock that morning, assisted by several local priests, and Father S. J. Sullivan of Townsend will preach the sermon. Members of the various Irish and Catholic societies will attend the mass in a body. Judge J. J. Lynch is chairman of the committee on arrangements and Thursday afternoon announced the following as members: Anthony Lavelle, secretary; James J. Murphy, treasurer; Walter J. Sewell, Maurice J. McDonough, Thomas J. Sullivan, James M. Brown, John J. Caplis, T. J. McCarthy, Charles H. Gallagher, [W. K. or W. J.] Kennedy, John J. McNamara, Thomas J. Sullivan, James M. Brown, Jerry John O'Leary, John Gribben, Charles Egan and John Sullivan. W. J. Sewell and T. J. McCarthy will act as ushers during the morning services. Several dancing parties are scheduled for the evening, particularly at the K. of C., Twentieth Century and A. O. H. halls. It was announced that the Hibernians would not hold a parade this year.
