# MRS. MALONEY DIES ON COAST ### Old-time Residents Grieved Over Death of Ex-Butte Matron. Mrs. J. H. Maloney, 65, a former resident who left Butte 23 years ago, died late Monday night at her home in Long Beach, Cal., according to a message received here yesterday morning. Death was the result of a sudden heart attack, advices said. While in Butte, Mrs. Maloney was prominent for her activities in church, fraternal and charity work. She had been living with her daughter, Mrs. A. C. Hollensteiner at Long Beach, since the death of her husband about four years ago. News of her passing was received in a message this morning by W. S. Thompson, a friend of the Maloney family. Mr. and Mrs. Maloney left Butte in 1910 to make their home on the Pacific coast. They first resided in Palo Alto, where their daughter attended Stanford university, and later went to Long Beach to reside. Mrs. Maloney was a native of Mankato, Minn., which was also the native city of Mr. Maloney. Mr. Maloney came to Butte about 50 years ago. She came later and they were married here. Mr. Maloney entered the real estate business with offices on West Granite street. He became one of the city's leading realtors and also was actively engaged in mining properties. He had an interest in the Ruby mine and numerous properties in this district. The Maloneys made their home at 501 West Quartz street. Mrs. Maloney was an ardent worker in the Baptist church and she was among the leaders who built the present church edifice at the corner of West Broadway and Montana street. She was very popular with the old-time residents who will be deeply grieved to learn of her passing. Mr. and Mrs. Maloney made frequent visits here after their departure for the coast. Funeral services will be held in Long Beach and burial will take place there beside the body of her husband.
