W. O'Halloran's 1916 *Early Irish History and Antiquities, and the History of West Cork* — the standard regional history of the Beara/Bantry world the Murphys came from. Includes Chapter XIX ("Puxley and the Famous Morty Oge"), the chapter-extract of which is held separately in this archive as a citable section. Provides the secondary-source frame for almost everything in the West Cork chapters of the book. Per O'Halloran's voice, the chapter on Puxley/Morty Oge opens: "A Welsh adventurer named Puxley acquired at the time we are dealing with the seat of the O'Sullivans..." — the same Beara legend the 1907 Fall River Globe clipping promoted, and the same story Riobárd Ó Dwyer's emails relayed. NB: a curate at Eyeries called Rev. W. O'Halloran appears in the 1890 Irish Examiner Berehaven-fishing clipping leading temperance. Whether that curate is the same W. O'Halloran who wrote this book is an open question worth checking.
