There was a large attendance and the enrollment before the opening of the entertainment was the largest in the history of the league. The first vice president, Miss Annie Sullivan, attended and spoke of the spirit which should fill the members of the league. She told of the early struggles and noted the degrees of progress. John J. Walsh, a recent arrival in Butte from Chicago, is one of those who joined the league last evening. He has been in Butte for the past three months and is studying for the bar. Among those who took part in the entertainment last evening were the following: Introduction, John C. Murphy; step dancing, Misses Mary McCarthy and Nellie Burke, accompanied by Peter McBrian; song in Gaelic by the children of the Gaelic league; duet, Misses Mary and Josie McCarthy, accompanied by Miss Julia Burke; violin duet, Masters Frank Connell and James Downey; four-hand reel, Patrick O'Brien, Daniel Leahy and Abbie Leahy and Mary Healy, accompanist, Peter McBrian; duet, Misses Margie Sullivan and Helen Downey, accompanied by Miss Margie Downey; step dancing, Miss Abbie Lowney and Daniel Leahy; four-hand jig, Patrick O'Brien, Daniel Leahy, Misses Norah Sullivan and Katie Holland.
