A Butte miner who died on 28 April 1890 when a cage of timbers fell on him while descending the shaft of the Mountain Consolidated mine. Reported in the Anaconda Standard 1890-04-29 p.5 ("KILLED IN THE SHAFT"). Widower (wife died c. April 1889) with seven children, the oldest a boy of 10 employed as a tool carrier at the same mine where his father was killed.
