Long-time Walkerville resident, came to Butte more than 50 years before her death in 1940 per the Montana Standard obit (1940-05-30). A native of Michigan. Moved to Los Angeles in later life; died there May 1940. Her three sisters Mrs. Nellie Tracy, Mrs. William Pascoe, and Mrs. Agnes Brennan were all of Butte at the time of her death. Children per the obit: Mrs. James J. Murphy (of LA, on Victoria Ave; widow of C, the 1938-d. LA James Murphy son of Pat-and-Ellen), Miss Mary "Mamie" Kelly (LA, unmarried, d. 1954 LA), Mrs. Fred Hauser (Seattle), and Walter Kelly (LA). PROVISIONAL: also possibly the mother of Agnes Kelly (B's wife, m. 1908 St. Lawrence church to James J. Murphy who died 1927 at 79 Missoula). The 1908 Murphy-Kelly wedding write-up names the bride's parents as "Mr. and Mrs. John Kelly, 412 West Daly street" — a Walkerville address. If that John Kelly is Mary Chatham Kelly's husband, then Agnes Kelly was a Chatham-Kelly daughter and B and C married Kelly sisters (= brothers-in-law). The 1940 obit daughter list does NOT name Agnes — either (a) Agnes predeceased her mother 1927-1940, or (b) Agnes belongs to a separate Walkerville Kelly family and the Kelly-Murphy double-marriage is coincidence.
