Samuel Francis Thompson, little son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Thompson, 126 (or Hopkins) street, died yesterday. Funeral Thursday at 2 p. m. The funeral of Lulu, the infant daughter of R. A. Houser, who died on the night of the 13th inst., will be held at 2 o'clock today from the family residence, 420 Ramsey street. Mrs. Mary B. Robinson, aged 51 years, died yesterday. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 10 a. m. from the family residence of her son, J. W. Robinson, No. 380 West Mercury. Marriage licenses were issued yesterday as follows: James A. Sharack, 25, and Anna Elby, 26; both of Butte; James A. Sharack, 21, and Anna Elby, 26, both of Butte; Johnson McAuley, 27, and Margaret Murphy, 22, both of Butte. Four more arrests on the charges of vagrancy were made yesterday in the course of raids on the lower town and jail by Officers McDonald and Perrin. The defendants gave their names as James Buckner, Mike Cody, Tom Malcolm and Pete Williams. **PERSONAL** Felix Boysen and Henry Boysen, of Butte, Hellbronn, Germany, received a telegram yesterday announcing the death of their mother in Germany. --- **MISS ROSA M'AHAN OF BUTTE.** **How After Two Years the Found a Remedy for Dandruff.** Miss Rosa M'Ahan, 631 West Quartz street, Butte, Mont., says: "Herpicide was recommended to me for dandruff. The officer said that he had been called to Galena street by a woman, and that he was inclined to be noisy and the officer had to place him under arrest; also asked some of Symonds' friends what would become of him as he had found him in the New Orleans dance hall, where the dance master of ceremonies, a man named Lester, was dancing, if what he would do if he had a revolver. Symonds' remarks to the women in the "Castle" were afraid to testify, and the statement that they decided that Symonds was with a crowd who spoke indecently to women who were perfect strangers. The defense and Judge Sullivan, gave Symonds good advice, and assessed him $10 with a warning not to appear again in the police court. Officer Harvey Perna, in testifying against Mike Murphy, charged with being drunk, said that Murphy had been given a warning some time ago, and as he came out on the run the officer tried to get him to go home, but he wouldn't go and he stopped him. Nothing much came of this, but it afterwards heard of him in another saloon. He also stated that Murphy was boisterous, and had two large rocks that he had brought down from Meaderville to use as weapons but found nothing, and explained the habits on his part, and he had been busy on his way down to town in his hand; always thought "he couldn't help everything and during his testimony Judge Sullivan also asked many questions, and that the court believed he could have placed a charge of disturbance against Murphy and used as a plain drunk. The court made the charges $10. W. T. Bicker will probably remember his first trip to Butte. He got into the city on New Year's week and began looking for a hotel on his west Main. He saw two women who had also just arrived and were looking for a hotel. As they neared the corner of West Main the women went ahead, and one of the girls nothing (Officer McDonald on foot patrol at the time), and one of them said that the man had been trying to annoy them by making indecent proposals to them. The women had witnessed the practice of insulting women at the meeting and they were witnesses, and Judge Sullivan was very indignant about it. Gave Judge Sullivan gave him a severe lecture about this and warned the prisoner for a long time to come. The Judge said that every woman, single women is a coward and a brute who would make such advances. The court was very earnest about the matter and will do all in its power to drive such characters from the city, the court said. He then fines Bicker $10. At the morals session of the court, Jack Maney proved to be the star actor in the prisoners' bench. Jack was arrested on Monday morning for breakfasting at 2 o'clock on East Park. He was told by some friends called and being told that they could not change they had made and make up $5. Being very glad he wanted to be released. Evidently he considered that this was not sufficient and proceeded to think the job over and made another call. He came up again at 11 o'clock at night charged with having had too much whiskey. This time he is serving out his sentence and in jail. A small note below says these drinks counted $1 each. Three drinks counted $1 each. --- **WILLIAM NEWTON'S CASE.** **Attorney Who Was Disbarred Seeks to Be Reinstated.** The case of ex-Attorney William Newton, who was disbarred about a year and a half ago, was called in Judge before Judge [illegible] yesterday. The case came up upon petition against ex-Justice of the Peace Tom Harris and a prominent member of the bar of this county. It was alleged by Newton, that Harris was being the property of a prisoner in the county jail and that Newton accused Doctor Dickenson a name of putting up a case of perjury against him as the medical member of the witnesses. The attorney asked for witnesses for reinstatement to go to the offices of the jailer and the request was made to Judge [illegible] for reinstatement. In progress Newton is charged, the decision being denied. The prisoner himself on the stand is said to have jumped his bonds, and if the court would comment on the cause of this state of affairs Newton himself was found in violation. Newton was defended by a jury trial, and the verdict of that jury trial claims that the attorney can come back. Now the hearing of this morning, in the ordinary way for an appeal to the supreme court on all the evidence. It seems the parties reached interest was the beginning of this morning at 10 o'clock. **STATIONERY AND FUEL** Col. W. H. Harrison, who was our ex-president, and a signer of the constitution, always stood up as a father for good things of this life and a good fuel. When President of the First Congress, which met in Philadelphia, he spoke so well of the qualities of great statesmen in the convention hall. Wishing to ask his friend to join him in a bumper, he took him to a place where he received two glasses of brandy and water. The man in charge said: "Doesn't the amount included in the supplies furnished to me today?" "What is it, then, that I see the judge made his expenses from friends?" "Molasses and water, which they didn't know," was Harrison's surprising reply. "Very well," said Harrison, "give me brandy and water and charge it as molasses if you will." --- **THE DEMON OF CYNICISM.** A man who had been morally great, strong man broke down and confided in his friend, Dr. Edmund Mc Leville one that appointing sight, telling him thus: When I was young and mentally great, I persuaded no hindrance, moved him to resist every bad influence, and we were given to the jug habit.
